The West Oxfordshire Learners showed great rhythm in their varied programme of short traditional tunes.
The Senior Band (West Oxfordshire Winds), with their high standard of playing, treated us to a set from Grease, a moving rendition of 'You Are My Sunshine' arranged especially for one of their members who is sadly very ill, and an impressive 'All that Jazz', to mention but a few of their pieces.
The 16 members of West Oxfordshire Clarinets worked through three centuries of music: a fantastic group of 'Bach' pieces, 'Solace' a slow and stunning ragtime by Scott Joplin, the romantic 'Moon River', 'Here, There and Everywhere' by The Beatles and the pure jazz of 'Come Fly with Me' were highlights.
Under Wendy Marks' excellent direction the playing often reached the "Last Night of The Proms" standard and was equally enjoyable.
