WOC, The West Oxfordshire Clarinet choir followed Freeland Orchestra and sounded
very accomplished. They started with the gentle and beautiful Berceuse by Fauré and
ended the first half with the popular Moon River. The clarinets also started the
next half and I particular enjoyed the delightful and lively Threepenny Opera.
The WOW band got off to a good start with Baby Elephant Walk following it with a
spirited and joyful Abba medley where it was fun to pick out the many familiar tunes.
When they had finished their last piece, Chattanooga Choo Choo, the audience was
definitely left wanting more.
It was great to see all the players enjoying making music together and as one of
them said if it wasn't for Wendy some of these instruments would be sitting in a
cupboard somewhere gathering dust and that would be a great waste of talent.
